Iridium-192 Sources
The PT Inuki (Persero) range of sources and source
holders caters for most industrial applications using gamma radiography.
A choice of isotopes provides for the widely varying
requirements demanded by different materials and site conditions. Sources with
outputs ranging from 50 up to 100 curies are available-all precision
constructed to ensure the highest possible specific activities and the smallest
focal spot sizes.
Sources exchange is available as a service either
on-site or when source projectors are returned to PT Inuki (Persero) for
inspection or overhaul. Sources can be shipped in the source projector or in
suitable returnable transport container.
Iridium-192 sources are
constructed using iridium metal discs or pellets of uniform size in a welded
stainless steel capsule.

PROCESS
DESCRIPTION
Iridium-192 discs are arranged in
inner capsule, welded and transferred to outer capsule welded again and then
bubble leak tested. Welded radioactive capsules are connected with source
holders, swaged and pull tested. At the end, the radioactive products are
measured, decontaminated, and then inserted into the temporary storage or directly
to Gamma Cameras.
